Beurer FM38 Review: Shiatsu Foot Massager

The Beurer FM38 is an electric foot massager that combines heat and Shiatsu massage technique to provide pain-relieving and muscle-relaxing therapy.

It’s really convenient in that you can use it at any time from the comfort of your home. Just pop it into an outlet, get comfortable in a chair and place your legs on the massager. Beats paying for spa appointments to get foot massage.

Even if you have no health problem, the massager is great for relaxing your feet after a long day at work. But it’s especially beneficial for people with chronic pain and discomfort as a result of conditions like arthritis and neuropathy. You can also get it as a gift for an elderly friend or member of the family. It will enhance their mobility, relieve chronic pain, boost blood circulation and improve general wellbeing.

What are you buying?

1. 8 massage heads

There are four massage heads on each pad. When you turn the massager on, they will rotate and oscillate to massage your foot.

The pads are too small to fit your entire foot. Each set of four massage heads can only massage one area at a time. So you have to shift your foot to target different sections like the forefoot, heel and mid-foot. But it’s easy work and allows you to target specific areas where you need more attention.

2. Separate heat function

The Beurer FM38 has an integrated infrared heat function. It helps with pain relief and muscle aches and soreness. For people with arthritis, it also reduces joint stiffness and improves blood circulation.

The heat function has its own separate button. It’s the big red button at the top. This means you can activate or deactivate it separately from the main massage function. So if you just need to have your feet massaged without any heat, you can leave the heat setting off.

3. Revitalising experience

The Beurer FM38 provides instant relief from pain, stiffness and sore muscles. Just 15 minutes is enough to get your feet feeling relaxed and invigorated.

If your feet often feel sore and dog tired after working all day, use this massage to soothe your muscles and rejuvenate your stressed joints. It will even help you sleep better.

How easy is it to use?

It’s a breeze to use. There is no setup or installation required. Just inbox it and plug it into a standard electrical outlet. There is an on/off button at the front. Press that to get the massager going.

Pressing the on button does not activate the heat setting. You have to press the separate red button at the top to switch on the infrared heat feature. You’ll see red lighting underneath each pad with the heat turned on.

There is no remote control but that’s not a big deal. If you need to change a setting such as turning on the heat, use your foot. The buttons are big and easy to press with your big toe. There is no need to keep bending.

The massage function may feel a bit tingly at first. But as you get used to it, it gets more comfortable. If the massage heads feel a bit too aggressive, try putting on a pair of socks.

Note that the massager automatically shuts off after 15 minutes. That’s the recommended amount of time you should use it at a go. But if you need more time, just press the ON button again.

What accessories are included?

No accessories are included with the Beurer FM38 nor do you need to buy any.
