What are you buying?

1. Shiatsu massage heads

Shiatsu is a form of massage with Japan origins. It is almost similar to acupuncture in that it targets specific points on your feet whose stimulation improves blood circulation, reduces pain and relaxes your muscles.

The Beurer FM60 uses 18 massage heads, 9 on each foot, to target various points along your foot from the heel to the forefoot. You just need to place your feet on the massage pads and then turn on the massager. You can choose from two massage speeds depending on your comfort preferences.

You’ll immediately feel less pain and tension in your muscles. For those with arthritis, the massage helps to reduce stiffness and improve flexibility.

2. Separate heat function

The Beurer FM60 has a heat function that you can activate separately from the main massage function. To switch it on, first make sure the massager is on then press the ON/OFF button. This will activate the heat. Press it again and it switches off the heat.

3. Breathable mesh cover

Covering the massage heads is a soft breathable mesh cover. This cover keeps your feet cool and comfortable during the massage. Your feet won’t get all sweaty and clammy even on extra-long massage sessions with the heat on.

How easy is it to use?

The Beurer FM60 is plug-and-play. There is no setup or installation involved. Just place it near a chair where you can enjoy the massage in comfort. There is no remote control so you have to bend down to press the single settings and on/off button at the front of the massager. But you can also use your toe to turn on/off the heat setting or change the massage speed.

The button will produce a different light indicator for each setting. The pads themselves light up red when you have turned on the heat.

The massager automatically runs for 15 minutes but you can turn it on again if you need a longer massage.

Some customers report that the massager can be a bit aggressive especially on the high setting. If you have sensitive feet, try putting on socks before placing your feet on the pads.

Choose the lower speed setting when you are using the massager for the first time. You can then try out the higher speed and feel whether it’s ideal for you.

When you are done massaging your feet, the cable tucks nicely underneath the unit for easy storage.

What accessories are included?

No accessories are included with the Beurer FM60 foot massager nor do you need to buy any.

Anything else you should know?

The Beurer FM60 is not a medical device so it should be safe for most people to use. You can use the Shiatsu foot massager if:

  • You have arthritis in your feet and suffer from joint stiffness and chronic pain caused by inflammation. The massager can help with both symptoms.
  • You have aches in your feet, ankle or knee. Turn on both the massage and heat function for more effective pain-relief.
  • You often feel tired and sore in your feet after work. 15 minutes with this massager relaxes your tired muscles and boosts blood supply to rejuvenate your feet. It can even help you sleep better. It’s especially helpful if you spend most of your day on your feet.
  • You have cold feet. The increased blood circulation can help warm up your feet even long after you have finished the massage.

Take extra caution or consult your doctor if:

  • You have varicose veins, thrombosis, diabetes or vein inflammations.
  • You have recently undergone surgery on or near your foot.
  • You have an injury on your foot such as a wound or wart.

Conclusion

The Beurer FM60 is an easy and convenient way to enjoy a revitalising foot massage from the comfort of your home. Buy it to treat your feet every evening or get it as a gift for a friend or family member.
