Beurer FB50: Luxury Foot Bath Spa With Water Heater

Today I’m very happy to introduce you to my new favourite foot spa machine, Beurer Foot Spa FB50. I’ve been testing this beautiful footspa for past two weeks and I summarise my main findings below, so that you can see why I’m so excited.

FB 50 is the Beurer’s premium product that provides heated water and a range of vibration and massage functions to warm and relax your feet and lower legs. I think it is an excellent choice as a treat for yourself or a thoughtful gift for a loved one.

What are you buying?

As you may know already, a home foot spa machine is not just for people with ‘problem feet’. It is an excellent investment in health, well-being and stress management as well as being a great way to pamper, detoxify and refresh your feet.

The Beurer FB 50 has the longest list of features that I’ve seen in a home foot spa (and I’ve reviewed a good number of them). In the table below is what you are getting with FB 50 (you can also watch the manufacturer’s video).

Product FeaturesVideo
  • Clear, easy to read LED timer & display
  • Powerful & consistent water heating
  • Five setting water heating function
  • Motorised pedicure attachments
  • Automatic cord winder
  • Magnetic field therapy
  • Skid-free rubber feet
  • Infrared light therapy
  • Vibration massage
  • Bubble massage
  • Splash guard

As you can see, Beurer FB50 luxury foot bath spa offers everything. I tried and tested all the features and I like all of them with the bubbles and infrared light functions being my current favourites. Massage is also great and you can use it and bubble programmes simultaneously, separately or not at all.

I’m not completely clear about the usefulness of the magnetic field therapy, but I’ve read somewhere that it can have positive effects on people with diabetes.

What I like the most is the fact that this footspa not only keeps the water warm (like other foot spa machines in the market) but also can increase its temperature if needed. You can use cold water and FB50 is able to heat it to the required temperature in about 10 to 15 minutes (you can set the temperature in a range of 35 to 48 degrees).

If I’m not mistaken, this is the only foot bath with a water heater built in and other foot spas have just a ‘keep warm’ function. For me the optimal temperature was 38 degrees but I heard about people complaining that even 35 degrees was too much for them. Not sure how that’s possible when most people’s shower/bath is about 37 degrees hot.

How easy is it to use?

The Buerer FB50 is very easy to use. With a large, easy to read LED digital display there is no guesswork about settings and you can also see the temperature and time left on the programme you selected.

Operation is one-button style, so you needn’t fumble around when making adjustments. I like the fact that buttons are water proof. For you (if you’re as lazy as I am) this means that you could operate them with your wet toes without bending down to change the functions.

The unit has several safety features including slip-proof feet and a splash guard to prevent slippery spills. Because this foot bath promotes total relaxation, it comes equipped with a timer to turn the unit off in case you happen to doze off while relaxing. The timer can be set anywhere between twenty minutes and an hour (in 10 minute intervals).

When you are all done, the automatic cord winder makes it easy to tidy up and put your foot bath away. If you want to clean it, I recommend you just use a bit of white vinegar to rinse it out – it’s very easy.

What accessories are included?

The FB50 relax foot bath comes with a nice assortment of accessories.

Included with the unit are:

  • Three changeable pedicure attachments: a massager, a brush & a pumice stone
  • An instruction manual
  • A three year warranty

Key features of Beurer FB50 Foot Spa

Pros

  • Great performance and functionalities – the FB50 has a very long list of functions, can heat the water and keeps it nice and warm for the duration of the treatment. The massage action relieves tension. The extra tools are very useful with pumice stone being my favourite tool out of the three included.
  • Comfortable – using this foot bath is very restful at the end of a long day on your feet. Very refreshing for tired feet, especially when you add some dead salts or essential oils into the water. You need to get used to the massage rollers that are on the floor of the unit, but I think it’s good to have them there and you can remove them if you don’t like them.
  • Limited noise – when using the bubble function, the motor is quiet (although this is a relative term and some people will always complain), so it is possible to listen to music while relaxing.
  • Luxury design – the unit is nice looking and easy to use. It has a larger size than most foot spas in the market so people with larger feet will love it.

Cons

  • Pedicure attachments – the pedicure attachments included as a bonus are useful and give very good results but it may take some time to learn how to use them properly.
  • No easy pour spout – the unit is a little large and hard for some users to move about, so an easy pour spout would be very useful. I had no problem to lift it to the sink while filled with water but I can see that some people may struggle with it.
